Carbon Cups for measuring carbon and silicon content in iron casting industry
The carbon cups are designed to measure the carbon and silicon content of molten iron, which is connected with three signal indicators on the panel of "Ready", "Measurement" and "Finish" through a potential free reed relay. The simplest method to evaluate cartridge quality is: Under same conditions of temperature and composition of the molten iron, take samples and measure continuously. Comparing the differences of liquidus and solidus temperatures from different cups, you can conclude that the smaller the difference, the better the quality
Principle of measurement:
The collection of temperature curves is conducted by the microprocessor. Contents of carbon and silicon and the quality of molten iron can be calculated by the crystallization process of molten iron.
Cup-CE without tellurium; is used for "Carbon Equivalent" determination of cast iron.
Cup-C with tellurium reliable data for thermal analysis to read CE, C & Si of cast iron.
Cup-HC is specially used for the determination of the high carbon equivalent of cast iron / S.G. Iron.
