Alumina Ceramic Foam Filter for Aluminum Casting

Ceramic Foam Filter is a phosphate-free, high alumina-based product, It is characterized by high porosity and mechanical and chemical stability, and excellent resistance to thermal attack & corrosion from molten aluminum, It can effectively remove inclusions, reduce trapped gas & provide laminar flow when filtrating molten aluminum, it is machined to tight dimensional tolerance during production, this combination of physical properties and precise tolerance make them the first choice for molten non-ferrous filtration.

Installation Method and Product Selection 
Installation method: Filter is installed in the filter bowl to filter molten aluminum alloy impurities.

1) Select a suitable temperature filter according to the kinds of alloy, the filter should not exceed temperature and damage.
2) Select suitable bore density, purification fits in with the quality of the casting.
3) Select the dimension of a suitable filter, not increase the time of molding.
4) Reduce the second dreg.
5) Porosity: filter 80-90% when founding

1. The product of other specifications can also be prepared according to customers' requirements.
2. PPI (Pores Per Inch), PPI means the number of holes per inch.

Alumina ceramic foam filter use
1. Clean the filter box.
2. Gently put the filter into the filter box, and press the gasket around the filter to prevent the molten aluminum to flow from the side.
3. Even preheat the filter box and filter plates, closer to the temperature of molten aluminum casting.
4. Observe the aluminum liquid hydraulic head change, the normal initial pressure head is 75-150 mm. When the Alumina liquid began to pass, the pressure head will be reduced to 25 mm below,  then the pressure head will gradually increase.        
5. After filtration, timely remove the filter plate, and clean the filter box.
