Diesel Particulate Filter

Diesel Particulate Filter (hereinafter called DPF) is designed to remove black smoke (soot, hereinafter called PM) from diesel engine exhaust, making a great contribution to cleaning the exhaust gas from diesel cars while attracting much attention from worldwide car manufacturers.DPF is a wall honeycomb ceramic made of cordierite and silicon carbide as raw materials. The exhaust gas discharged from diesel engines contains particles whose main component is carbon. The particulate trap is installed in the exhaust system of diesel vehicles. The device that reduces the particulate matter (PM) in the exhaust gas by filtering has a filtering efficiency of more than 90% for carbon particles, and the soluble organic components SOF (mainly high boiling point HC) can also be partially captured.
In order to satisfy environmental regulations that should become increasingly strict in the future, installation of DPF will be obligated, thus DPF demand will further expand in the future. In addition, our SiC-DPF has a uniform pore structure because of well-controlled raw materials and the sintering process. This allows to trap PM in a consistent manner, thus enabling stable regeneration (incineration of PM).

DPF installation

A DPF is installed between an engine and a muffler to remove suspended particulate matter (SPM) from diesel engine exhaust gas.

The working principle of the particulate trap: By alternately blocking both ends of the pores of the honeycomb porous ceramic, the ceramic wall is used to filter and remove PM.
