Alumina ceramic foam filters are characterized by the existence of a chemical bond. The low density and construction of the ceramic frame allow for the filter to reach minimal dimension deviations during the production process. It is mainly used for the purification process of aluminum, aluminum alloy, and other nonferrous alloy production.

Alumina ceramic foam filter use
1. Clean the filter box.
2. Gently put the filter into the filter box, and press the gasket around the filter to prevent the molten aluminum to flow from the side.
3. Even preheat the filter box and filter plates, closer to the temperature of molten aluminum casting.
4. Observe the aluminum liquid hydraulic head change, the normal initial pressure head is 75-150 mm. When the Alumina liquid begins to pass, the pressure head will be reduced to 25 mm below,  then the pressure head will gradually increase.
5. After filtration, timely remove the filter plate, and clean the filter box.

Handling and Use:
Alumina Ceramic foam filters are fragile and should be handled accordingly. Take a filter out of the package and carefully remove possible ceramic particles by hand or blow them off with pressure air. It is recommended to handle foundry filters without gloves.
By no means try to adapt the filter (cutting or sanding). Its shape and dimensions must correspond with the space in the shell mold or ceramic funnel. For this purpose filters can be protected with a sealing gasket of heat-resistant fibre material. If the gating system does not have a space for filter placement, the filter can be produced with a draft to fit better the conical shape of the funnel.
