Cordierite Diesel Particulate Filter

Diesel Particulate Filter (hereinafter called DPF) is a wall honeycomb ceramic made of cordierite and silicon carbide as raw materials. DPF is designed to remove black smoke (soot, hereinafter called PM) from diesel engine exhaust, making a great contribution to cleaning the exhaust gas from diesel cars while attracting much attention from worldwide car manufacturers.In order to satisfy environmental regulations that should become increasingly strict in the future, installation of DPF will be obligated, thus DPF demand will further expand in the future.

Structure and working principle:
DPF substrate has the special structure of one end open and the other end closed. 

There are many micropores on its inner wall. These micropores allow gas to pass through the wall but reject most particulate matter in the exhaust. When the exhaust gas from the diesel engine enters a DPF channel from the open end, because the other end is closed, the exhaust gas is forced to pass through the micropores in the inner wall and be discharged from the adjacent open channel. During this process, particles larger than these pores are captured on the inner wall, thereby achieving a filtration effect.
